What is the conversion factor between inches and feet?

Which is bigger, an inch or a foot?
When it comes to measurements, there can be some confusion over which is bigger, a inch or an foot. To find out which one is larger, we must first convert one unit to the other and then compare them.

How to convert inches to feet?
Multiplying any value by 1 will get you the same value back. You can do that one time or multiple times.
For example:
- 14 x 1 = 14
- 403 x 1 x 1 x 1 = 403
Multiplying by 1 is the first step in any unit conversion problem. The second step is to replace the number 1 with the conversion factor that is also equal to 1.
For example, if we want to convert 120 inches into feet we multiply 120 in by the conversion factor of 1 ft12 in
By replacing the number 1 with the conversion factor, inches are canceled out and we get the result in feet. And since the conversion factor is equal to 1, multiplying it with the original value won't change its magnitude and will only change its unit.
Based on this, we can conclude that 120 inches are equal to 10 feet.
