Convert Hz to THz
Interactive hertz to terahertz conversion tool
The Hz to THz converter below can be used to quickly and easily convert hertz to terahertz. Simply enter the number of hertz you want to convert and the calculator will output the corresponding value in terahertz.
What is the conversion factor between hertz and terahertz?
A conversion factor is used to change the units of a measured quantity without changing its value. It represents the ratio (or fraction) that expresses the relationship between two different units. A conversion factor is always equal to 1.
The relationship between hertz and terahertz is 1e+12, such as:
Following the formula above, we can see that there are 1e+12 hertz for every terahertz, and for every hertz, there are 11e+12 terahertz (1e-12 THz).
To convert from hertz to terahertz, we turn our formula into a conversion factor that is equal to 1.
Both these fractions are equal to 1. The numerator and the denominator are equivalent, they are just expressed in different units.
Because we are converting from hertz to terahertz, we will use the first fraction: 1 THz1e+12 Hz so that hertz are canceled out. We then multiply the value in hertz by this fraction to get the result in terahertz (see example).
Note that Hz is in the denominator (bottom) of the conversion factor. This is important, you always want to have the unit you are converting from at the bottom and the unit you are converting to in the numerator (top).
You will find below how to use this ratio to convert from Hz to THz. Just remember for now that the conversion factor for converting from hertz to terahertz is:
Which is bigger, a hertz or a terahertz?
When it comes to measurements, there can be some confusion over which is bigger, a hertz or an terahertz. To find out which one is larger, we must first convert one unit to the other and then compare them.
- 1 Hz = 11e+12 THz = 1e-12 THz
- 1e-12 terahertz is smaller than 1 terahertz.
- 1 hertz is, therefore, smaller than 1 terahertz.
- To be more specific, a terahertz is 1e+12 times bigger than a hertz.

How to convert hertz to terahertz?
Multiplying any value by 1 will get you the same value back. You can do that one time or multiple times.
For example:
- 67 x 1 = 67
- 961 x 1 x 1 x 1 = 961
Multiplying by 1 is the first step in any unit conversion problem. The second step is to replace the number 1 with the conversion factor that is also equal to 1.
For example, if we want to convert 1e+13 hertz into terahertz we multiply 1e+13 Hz by the conversion factor of 1 THz1e+12 Hz
By replacing the number 1 with the conversion factor, hertz are canceled out and we get the result in terahertz. And since the conversion factor is equal to 1, multiplying it with the original value won't change its magnitude and will only change its unit.
Based on this, we can conclude that 1e+13 hertz are equal to 10 terahertz.
Remember:
- When converting from hertz to terahertz, we use 1 THz1e+12 Hz as a conversion factor.

How to convert 93 hertz to terahertz?
We multiply 93 by the factor of 1
We replace the number 1 with the conversion factor for hertz to terahertz
We multiply 93 hertz by the conversion factor. Having hertz in the denominator allows us to cancel out the undesired units (Hz) leaving only terahertz in the final result.
Answer: There are 9.3e-11 terahertz in 93 hertz
How many terahertz are in 245 hertz?
Multiply 245 by the conversion factor. Make sure the unwanted unit (Hz) is in the denominator.
This allows us to cancel out the hertz (Hz) and leave the terahertz (THz)
Answer: There are 2.45e-10 terahertz in 245 hertz

Convert from Terahertz (THz):
- Terahertz to gigahertz (THz to GHz)
1 THz = 1000 GHz - Terahertz to megahertz (THz to MHz)
1 THz = 1e+6 MHz - Terahertz to kilohertz (THz to kHz)
1 THz = 1e+9 kHz - Terahertz to hertz (THz to Hz)
1 THz = 1e+12 Hz
Convert to Terahertz (THz):
- Gigahertz to terahertz (GHz to THz)
1 GHz = 11000 THz = 0.001 THz - Megahertz to terahertz (MHz to THz)
1 MHz = 11e+6 THz = 1e-6 THz - Kilohertz to terahertz (kHz to THz)
1 kHz = 11e+9 THz = 1e-9 THz - Hertz to terahertz (Hz to THz)
1 Hz = 11e+12 THz = 1e-12 THz
