What is the conversion factor between centimeters and meters?

Which is bigger, a centimeter or a meter?
When it comes to measurements, there can be some confusion over which is bigger, a centimeter or an meter. To find out which one is larger, we must first convert one unit to the other and then compare them.

How to convert centimeters to meters?
Multiplying any value by 1 will get you the same value back. You can do that one time or multiple times.
For example:
- 75 x 1 = 75
- 623 x 1 x 1 x 1 = 623
Multiplying by 1 is the first step in any unit conversion problem. The second step is to replace the number 1 with the conversion factor that is also equal to 1.
For example, if we want to convert 1000 centimeters into meters we multiply 1000 cm by the conversion factor of 1 m100 cm
By replacing the number 1 with the conversion factor, centimeters are canceled out and we get the result in meters. And since the conversion factor is equal to 1, multiplying it with the original value won't change its magnitude and will only change its unit.
Based on this, we can conclude that 1000 centimeters are equal to 10 meters.
